Traveling to Raleigh and looking for a place to train? Gracie Raleigh welcomes visiting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, No-Gi, and Muay Thai practitioners to drop in for a class at our gym — no membership required.
We’re conveniently located just minutes from Midtown Raleigh, North Hills, and Downtown Raleigh, making it easy to fit a class into your trip whether you’re in town for work, visiting family, or just passing through the Triangle. Gracie Raleigh has been training students in Raleigh since 2011 — we’re one of the longest-running BJJ academies in the area, with a welcoming mat culture and experienced black belt instructors.
Our Drop-In fee is $25 per class. If you’re new to BJJ and want to try a free trial class instead, register through our Get Started page.
How to Register for a Drop-In Class
- Click the “Drop-In” button above, then select the class you’d like to attend.
- On the following page, click “Sign Up” under “New Here?”
- Select the “Drop-In” option toward the bottom of the screen.
- Payment is due online through Zen Planner prior to arrival.

Gear Requirements
- Jiu Jitsu (Gi): Any color gi is welcome. Please wear a rash guard or t-shirt underneath.
- No-Gi Jiu Jitsu: A rash guard and grappling shorts are required.
- Muay Thai: Bring 16 oz gloves and shin guards.

Is there a BJJ gym near North Hills or Midtown Raleigh where I can drop in?
Yes — Gracie Raleigh is one of the closest full-service BJJ, No-Gi, and Muay Thai academies to the North Hills and Midtown area, and we welcome traveling practitioners for drop-in classes.
Do I need to be affiliated with a specific gym or academy to drop in?
No. We welcome visiting practitioners from any gym or affiliation. Just bring your gear (or rent it here) and come ready to train.
What if I’ve never trained at Gracie Raleigh before?
Drop-ins are best suited for practitioners who already train BJJ, No-Gi, or Muay Thai elsewhere. If you’re brand new to martial arts, we recommend booking a free trial class instead so our coaches can walk you through the fundamentals.
Can I drop in for more than one class during my visit?
Yes — the $25 fee applies per class, so you’re welcome to drop in for multiple sessions throughout your stay. Check our schedule for class times.
Is parking available at the gym?
Yes, we have on-site parking for all students and visitors.
What should I bring if I don’t have my own gear?
Just let us know in advance — gear rental (gi, rash guard, or gloves depending on the class) is available for $10.
Do you have showers?
Yes, however you need to bring your own towel.
