Welcome back to part three in our series about staying motivated. If you’re just joining us, we urge you go back and read over the first two parts.
In part one, we defined motivation and how it’s different for each person. In the second part, we spoke on a few tips that I personally use to keep myself inspired to keep training and learning. Both are short reads that will give you a ton of good information.
In today’s post, we’re going to lay out a few more tips that should keep you interested in training hard, and wanting to learn more. Are you interested in learning martial arts in Raleigh NC? If so, we hope you’ll consider coming out to Gracie Raleigh! We’re not your typical gym as we specialize in self defense, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and muay thai. More Ways to Motivate Yourself for Martial Arts Training
In part two, we covered tips that discussed using the consequences of not training as a motivational factor as well as how making friends and being around like-minded people can keep you inspired. Below, you’ll find a few more important ways that should help you.
Rewarding Yourself for a Job Well Done – Using a reward system to keep yourself motivated is like an old Jedi mind trick. This tactic has been used since the beginning of time to motivate people to do all sorts of things, and it’s no different when training for martial arts in Raleigh. There is nothing wrong with giving yourself a reward either, especially if it’s the thing that keeps you training hard. If you feel that you cannot make it to class one night, and you’ve been eating clean, then promise yourself a nice treat afterwards. Maybe it’s grabbing a beer with your coaches and classmates, or going out for pizza. Find the reward system that works best for you, keep it fresh, and use it to your advantage.
Write It Down and Look at It Daily – Seeing your goals on paper, and reading them everyday is another inspirational trick that transcends martial arts training. No matter what your goals are in life, make a list and post it somewhere you can be sure to read it everyday. If you want to make purple belt by the end of the year, write down your goals and the things you need to do to achieve it. Make it your mission to complete that list as quickly as possible. You can even guilt trip yourself into making sure that you’re working toward this goal each week.
These are just a few of the things that people do to keep themselves motivated. Granted, there are many more but these are the ones that I have found success with. Finally, we know that finding and keeping your motivational spirit up can hard at times, so hopefully these last few posts will help you out. If you need a great gym in the Raleigh area to keep you inspired, keep reading to see how Gracie can help.
