It’s all in the planning. We’re going to break down three different ways that a little extra proper planning can help you keep your weight in check.

The Morning After a Holiday Party

This might seem like we’re crazy, but we’re serious when we say you should make an extra effort to train the morning after a holiday party. You’re going to be overloaded on carbs and this means that your glycogen levels should be almost maxed out. Take advantage of this and use it as fuel for an intense morning workout. Try not to eat before this workout, but if you must have something in your stomach opt for just some coffee or juice.

We suggest that you either workout with heavy weights, or go hard with the cardio. Both options are great for curing a carb hangover.

The Day of a Holiday Party

On the day that you’re going to be attending the holiday party with lots of food and drink, plan out your eating schedule and strategy. Try to eat very little throughout the day and save the calories for the party that night. That will help you control some of the calories going in. For an added bonus, try to eat only lean protein, leafy greens, and omega 3’s the day of the holiday party.

Keep It Moving In The Right Direction

It’s OK to eat an extra piece of pie over the holidays. It’s also OK to let yourself enjoy the holidays without stressing out about what you’re eating and drinking. The key is controlling it. You cannot just let yourself go, you have to be able to keep moving in the right direction after the party is over. Manage your days before and after the party and get right back to training and eating healthy.
